Character Information

Name: Yoshiko Tsushima
Canon: Love Live! Sunshine!!
Canon Point: Post season 2, pre movie
Age: 16
History: hot damn, it's a wiki page link.
Personality:
  • Delusional but like, in a manageable way. Yoshiko pretends she's a fallen angel. Like, there's no getting around it, a good 75% of the time this teenager is pretending to be a fallen angel named Yohane. It's not a split personality thing, Yoshiko knows she's Yoshiko, that the Yohane persona is a bit embarrassing, and that Yohane is just something she created to feel special and to try and explain the fact that she's almost supernaturally unlucky. And she is a bit embarrassed about the Yohane thing: Yoshiko doesn't talk about fallen angels in class and she wants to do normal high school girl things: go shopping with her friends, have a sweets party, go to Tokyo, and things like that. However, she's used the Yohane persona for so long that it's hard for her to 'switch it off.' So yeah, while she is Yoshiko Tsushima, she'll introduce herself as Yohane, a fallen angel who's sent to gather up little demons through the act of being a school idol.

  • Super extra. As Yohane, Yoshiko is overdramatic as hell, tying everything back to dark forces, curses, etc. She can turn back her Yohane-ness at serious moments (or when Hanamaru, another idol, basically tells her to cut that shit out) but Yoshiko is a performer through and through. Whether it's on a stage or loudly proclaiming her demonic intentions on a public street, Yoshiko is not afraid of being looked at, stared at, or paid attention to. She's definitely aware of her own ridiculousness. At a few downer moments, Yoshiko tries to say something Yohane-ish in an attempt to perk up the group and lift their spirits. She relates things back to demons, constantly mentions using her fallen angel powers, calls her friends 'little demons,' occasionally wears black despite the fact that it's summer, relates everything (even cooking!) back to her status as a fallen angel, etc.

As a note, while she doesn't REALLY believe in the occult and fallen angels, Yoshiko believes in destiny, fated moments, invisible forces, and things like that. She doesn't believe in coincidences. This gets to the point where she almost steals someone's dog because she's convinced herself that the dog and her are tied together by destiny.

  • Over-confidence to hide embarrassment. She tries to come off as exceedingly confident, proudly proclaiming her demonic intentions or yelling that her demonic power can take down a snowstorm itself. This is mostly bluster and she knows it: in one instance, Yoshiko looks downright shocked when luck goes her way, despite the fact that she's been hyping up her demonic powers the whole time. However, on the opposite end, Yoshiko can get flustered very easily: the biggest way to fluster her is calling her 'Yoshiko' instead of 'Yohane'. Before Aqours gives her a "be yourself" speech, she stays home from school for days out of embarrassment after accidentally calling her classmates 'little demons.' Teasing her or mentioning her normal Yoshiko-ness is another good way to fluster her.

  • Friendly. Despite the fact that she's extra as hell, Yoshiko's ride or die for her friends group. She adores the rest of Aqours, the idol group she's a part of, and considers them her best friends. She doesn't hesitate to stay behind in Hokkaido with Ruby when Ruby wants to help out Leah: while Yoshiko doesn't 100% understand why Ruby wants to stay behind, she'll do it just to help out her friend. When she spotted a (seemingly) stray puppy on the street, Yoshiko didn't hesitate to take it home, get it cleaned up, and buy so many dog supplies to keep it happy, despite the fact that her building doesn't allow dogs.

  • Determined. She's stubborn and doesn't give up: despite the fact that they got zero votes in their first show, Yoshiko joins the rest of the Aqours girls in keeping the school idol thing going and fighting to keep their school open. She helps the team fight to the end, pushing through various obstacles and challenges to try and do the best they can & win Love Live. Sometimes this determination and supernatural-fixation interact in really dumb ways: again, she almost steals a dog.

Where and how did your character enter the Hedge? Returning home from the school's closing ceremony, Yoshiko got off at the wrong bus stop. As she tried to return home, she ended up getting lost, only realizing she was in the Hedge when shit hit the fan.
Additional Memories Lost: n/a
Skillsets: Yoshiko is a normal human, so no supernatural powers here. As for abilities,
  • School idol! This means that Yoshiko is good at singing, dancing, and singing while dancing.

  • Passable cook! Yoshiko's a halfway decent cook. Her main problem is that she really likes spicy food, to the point where she thinks 'flavoring things with Tabasco' is a good idea.

  • In-depth knowledge of the supernatural and vaguely demonic nonsense.

  • Really shitty fortune telling. Absolutely nobody came to her fortune-telling booth during the school closing festival and, at least in the mobile game, it's outright stated her fortune telling is mostly Yoshiko bullshitting things to tell people what they want to hear. She can do fortune telling via tarot cards and crystal ball.

  • This girl is almost supernaturally unlucky: losing at rock paper scissors, pulling a losing lotto ticket, getting splashed by the bus, etc. Yoshiko has accepted the fact that if bad things happen, they will happen to her. She'll also blame herself if bad things happen to a group that involves her, even if she had nothing to do with the bad things in the first place.

Inventory: The clothes on her back (her school uniform), her school bag + notebooks, a cellphone.
